Chemical Cleaning for Critical Process and Utility Systems

Cleansol selects and applies chemistry matched to the contaminant, the metallurgy and the customer specification for hygienic process and critical utility systems.

The Buyer Problem

Deposits, flux, scale and construction contamination do not flush out

Construction and installation leave flux residue, mill scale, weld oxide, oil and debris inside process and utility piping. In hygienic systems these must be removed before commissioning. In utility systems they cause fouling, corrosion and equipment damage over time.

Chemical cleaning is not water treatment, and it is not the same scope as hydronic flushing. The chemistry depends on the contaminant, the metallurgy, the system configuration and the project requirements. A correct scope starts with that assessment.

When It Is Required

Not Every Deposit Responds to Every Chemistry

Chemical cleaning improves on what flushing leaves behind. It does not guarantee removal of all deposits, and the approach must be matched to what is present. We will tell you when a scope review is needed before committing to a chemistry.

How chemical cleaning runs

Contaminant and metallurgy assessment

The deposit type, the base metallurgy and any special alloys or coatings are confirmed before chemistry selection. The specification takes precedence.

Chemistry selection

Chemistry is selected to address the specific contamination without damaging the base material. Customer approval is obtained for the selected approach.

Temporary circuit setup

Cleansol configures temporary pumping and circulation equipment around the system circuit. Isolation, temporary connection points and chemical handling are coordinated with the site team.

Controlled chemical treatment

Concentration, time and temperature are controlled and recorded through the treatment cycle per the approved procedure.

Rinse and neutralization

The system is rinsed to the acceptance criteria in the project documents. Waste is characterized and managed per the site-approved disposal path.

Verification and documentation

Verification tests per the specification are performed and recorded. The turnover package is assembled to the customer closeout format.

Standards and Limits

Procedures reference applicable industry standards as called out in the customer specification. Chemical cleaning is not a substitute for mechanical cleaning where mechanical access exists, and it is separate from passivation unless a combined scope is explicitly specified.

Equipment and Temporary Systems

Temporary circulation equipment matched to the circuit

Cleansol configures pumping, heating, filtration and chemical addition equipment around each system circuit. Process-compatible materials are used in temporary wetted components, and key operating variables are monitored and recorded through the treatment cycle.

Verification and Acceptance

Verified against the project criteria

Verification methods follow the project specification. Rinse acceptance, residual testing and any required cleanliness checks are performed and recorded against the acceptance criteria in the project documents.
